The Law & Order mail room could draw you a chart that looks like an EKG of American women's quickening pulses.  "Every time we've shown Ben Bratt in an undershirt," says executive producer Ed Sherin, "we get a lot of female mail."  Yes, Bratt (who plays Detective Rey Curtis on the NBC show) is buff, but his heat differs from the usual heartthrob's, says casting director Lynn Kressel:  "Sex appeal is often about danger, but Ben's appeal is a decency at the core."  Now that Bratt's available, Sherin notes he'd "make a hell of a good husband for some woman," (but) there are plenty out there who would like to take him on a temporary basis for a couple of hours."
